Odilon offers different types of activities for each unit in your textbook.
What do the activities offer students?
The workshops consist of a range of questions that check your understanding of a subject. You may complete these using your textbook. Each workshop begins with a brief contextualization and usually indicates the corresponding pages in your textbook.
The tests are workshops to which the instructor can grant students access at the time of his or her choosing. Students do not have access to these workshops on their own.
The interactive crossword puzzles can be completed right on the screen and cover the contents of each unit in the textbook. You must complete the whole puzzle before Odilon awards you a successful pass. The crossword must also be error-free. For more information, refer to the HELP and ERROR tabs featured with some of the crossword puzzles.
The printable crossword puzzles are PDF documents containing the interactive crossword puzzles. Their practical print format enables students to complete the puzzles in class or elsewhere, such as on the bus home from school.
The My Odilon tab provides all of this information. It supplies the details of each grade earned in Odilon activities.
How can my instructor view my grades?
My Odilon also provides a history of your visits to the website, the dates and times you logged on, as well as the pages you consulted.
My Odilon lets you edit your profile and register in new Odilon courses at any time.
Ask your students to create their own student profiles using your course group number. This very simple operation will only take them a moment.
How can my instructor view my grades?
Based on the name of your institution, title of the textbook, and course group number, Odilon will automatically establish a link between you and your students. To validate the registration of your students in each of your course groups, you must add each student individually. This will allow you to view the grades they obtain in the various Odilon activities in the course of the term.
Students can redo an activity as often as they wish. Each time they do this, they are assigned a grade and a full correction is provided.
Which grades are saved?
However, Odilon's system defaults to recording only the first grade earned. This way, instructors are assured that students perform the activity without knowing the questions or answers beforehand. However, even if a student completes a given workshop several times, the first grade scored always remains. Instructors can edit this default procedure.
They can choose other options for saving grades: for each Odilon activity, they may choose to save the best grade or all the grades earned by the student. The option to save all grades is interesting as it allows instructors to monitor their students' progress.
Click on My Odilon in the menu and go to the Your Odilon Options section. Click on Grades saved in student records, and choose which grade to save in your student's record.
The grades earned in Odilon activities are the result of a thorough, computer-generated, automated correction process. Each result is calculated out of 100 and is saved in your online record. It is up to your instructor to decide whether these grades will be used in your evaluation record. Some instructors use them for educational purposes, meaning they check whether an activity was satisfactorily completed, when it was performed, and how much time it took. Others use it for summary purposes, attributing a part of the overall evaluation to the grades earned in Odilon activities.

How do the crossword puzzles work?
Depending on the type of crossword puzzle, the boxes containing incorrect letters are displayed in gray or in red. Some puzzles give you the option of using an ERROR tab, which lets you know which of the letters provided are incorrect.
If you consult your textbook, you will be able to complete the crossword puzzles quickly. With some crossword puzzles, once they have been completed with all the correct answers, an image in the upper left-hand corner of the puzzle displays a validation number. Enter this number in the corresponding box and send off your form. With other puzzles, you needn't enter a validation number. Once you have completed the puzzle with all the correct answers, click on the 'Validate' button. Regardless of the type of puzzle used, once you have successfully completed it, you will be rewarded with a passing grade, and your instructor will instantly be notified of your success.

For each unit, Odilon offers certain activities that students cannot access until you change the status of these activities, also referred to as 'tests', on Odilon. Whereas the workshops are intended to be performed at any time with the help of the textbook, the tests aim to verify whether the information contained in a unit has been effectively read and retained. It is up to you, the only person with access, to activate these tests according to the conditions you select. This way, you can be sure that students will not be able to prepare for the questions.
How can instructors activate the tests?
The control you have over these workshops enables you to use them as evaluation tools (mini-exams, tests, assessments of knowledge, etc.) on the date and at the time of your choice. This gives students the flexibility to perform the activities in class, in the laboratory, at home or anywhere else.
To activate the tests prepared for each unit and to manage access to them for each of your groups, click on the My Odilon tab. Go to the Your tests section. Click on the title of your course group. In order to provide access to your students, you must activate a time frame. To do this, click on the grey button on the right, which will take you to the next screen. Click on the "Active Status" option and select the date and time you would like your students to have access to the workshop. Click on Edit to save your changes. You will notice the Active indicator display along with the scheduled time and the pink button has changed to red.
